Barnacles, La Jolla, 2004

My business partner and I traversed the cliffs and walked the beach during some slack time on a show in La Jolla. While we talked tech and shop, I shot a bunch of pictures of this amazing place.

Barnacles at La Jolla

These are nothing like the barnacles I’m used to seeing in Florida, so I might be wrong about what they are. They look like little turtle feet sticking out of a rock.

  • If you have not received a response, they are gooseneck barnacles, or Pedunculata. I was just reading that they are edible…something I didn’t realize. I’ve seen them for years along the Oregon Coast and have always thought they resembled turtle feet also.
